Letcher Town Board
September 5, 2007

Mayor Chada called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with Hohbach, Knutson, Moody, and Ackman in attendance.  C Gregg also visited with the board in regards to the Summer Solstice Festival seeking a new location.

Reports: W/S – Kiner will be coming to replace two fire hydrants in the near future.

Streets: Discussion was held on possible solutions to snow removal.

Grounds: Chada had some rough estimates for additions to the fire hall for storage and generator.  More discussion is needed.  Ackman will check for possible funding sources.

Horizons upcoming meetings were discussed with the need for more board involvement.

Financial reports were approved with a motion by Moody, 2nd Knutson.

The 2008 budgets for the general fund and water/sewer fund were approved with a motion by Knutson, 2nd Moody.

Appropriations from Sanborn County in the sum of $22,000.00 will be requested with a motion from Moody, 2nd Knutson.

A motion by Moody, 2nd Knutson was made to approve the August minutes as read.

Old Business:  The board feels that a celebration for the community is needed for having the community center loan totally paid.  Ackman will discuss with Legion/Auxiliary members the possibility of incorporating the celebration with the Veteran’s Day potluck or Turkey Bingo.

LSY is in the hole and means of funding will need to be discussed.

The next meeting is scheduled for October 3.
