Mayor Chada called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with Ackman, Knutson, Moody, Hohbach, S Fouberg, H Steinmetz, and D Moe in attendance.

Reports:
W/S: Blindauer sewer repairs were discussed.  Lead and Copper samples were submitted. 

Grounds: The board visited with Fouberg & Steinmetz in regards to projects they want completed.  The board will supplement the grounds employees with $25/per week in gas at Buckshots and thank them for so willingly use their own equipment.  Steinmetz will be reimbursed $30/hour for use of his tractor.  The board will look for a backup mower.  The board will provide a lunch for volunteers on clean up day.

Financial: A motion by Moody, 2nd Knutson, carried to approve the financial reports as presented.

LCDF: The LCDF is in agreement with having the Economic Development Board be a branch of their organization.

Economic Development: Knutson reported that several had agreed to being members of the economic development board.

A motion by Moody, 2nd Knutson, carried to approve the minutes as read.

D. Moe presented the board with a request to place a display case in the Community Center.  Motion by Knutson, 2nd Moody to allow carried.

Old Business: A special meeting will be called on May 21st to discuss mowing with property owners.  Ackman will discuss mowing options with the attorney.

New Business: Ackman administered the oath of office to Chada, Knutson, and Moody.

Knutson moved, Moody seconded to elect Mark Chada Mayor/President.

Moody moved, Knutson second, to declare the Sanborn Weekly journal as the official newspaper.

Knutson moved, Moody second to continue with the depositories of CorTrust and SDFIT.

Moody moved, Knutson second to appoint Jeff Larson as the city attorney.

Communications were presented to the board.

A motion by Knutson, second Moody carried to approve the following bills for payment: FIRE: Buckshots $160.76 fuel, Central SD Dist FF $39.00 dues, Santel $27.04, Upland Colony $815.00 truck repairs, LVFD $949.00 Mernaugh memorial; W/S: USDA $156.00, NW Energy $141.11, DRW $1741.10, SD Dept Rev $12.00 testing, Santel $39.41, Postmaster $41.00, wages $1891.97 (reimbursable $684.86), GEN:  Wages $184.70, Buckshots $17.44 fuel, Postmaster $41.00, Menards $54.98 grounds, Clayton’s $281.68 repairs, Scott Supply $65.19 repairs, Santel $37.00, W/S $747.26 reimbursement, NW Energy $338.07 street $111.87 CC, Upland $10.40 repairs, Sanborn journal $59.85 publication

The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2008 at 7:00 pm.
